Happy

Tessa is feeling much better lately. The spots are nearly gone now except a few on her neck that still itch her. She is back to her happy little self, running around and keeping Jeremy and I busy.
Also my mom wanted to pay for Jeremy,Tessa, and I to fly up to Milwaukee for Christmas. Unfortunately Jeremy has to work almost every day that last week in December. So I decided Tessa and I will make the trip up there. I'm nervous to fly by myself with Tessa, but she is at the age where it shouldn't be too hard. We don't have to bring the stroller or car seat. So that's a plus. I'm excited and nervous at the same time. Tessa enjoys airplane rides, she has been on 4 already. Jeremy and I have decided a DVD player may help with that. I will let y'all know how that goes for us!
Yesterday we went to Houston to pick up Jeremy's sister. Tessa enjoyed playing in the airport while we waited. Then we headed over to the Galleria to eat at the Rainforest Cafe. We had a great time, and Tessa enjoyed seeing her Auntie Mindy.

Tomorrow Tessa and I get to meet Jeremy's cousin, her husband, and their kid, plus we get to stuff ourselves with turkey. YAY!!
HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!
That's it for now.
Come back soon y'all

MMR Vaccine

So as you have read in a previous post Tessa got her 12 month shots on the 7th. One of those shots was the MMR (measles, mumps, and rubella) shot.  Her Dr did tell us that she may get a reaction to them but only about 15% of kids have a reaction. Well poor Tessa was one of the lucky 15%. Yesterday I noticed small red bumps on the back of her head, neck, belly, and back. I immediately called her Dr. He had said that it's a reaction to the shots she got . I had completely forgotten that he had said this (may have to start taking a notebook to write things down). But the only thing we could do to help her is give Tylenol for the discomfort and benedryl for the itching. I went and got her the Aveena oatmeal bath mix for her bedtime baths. Last night she went down for bed at 7pm and at 9:30 I heard her wake up. Normally she cries for a minute and passes back out. Well not last night. I went and got her and brought her into bed with Jeremy and I. She tossed and turned all night. Maybe got 3 hours of sleep all night. I felt so bad for her. Here is a picture of her goofing around at midnight last night.

This morning the dots had gotten redder, which my mom said means it's going away (she did some research after I told her about Tessa). I am hoping she starts feeling better. She seems to be in better spirits today and has already taken 2 long naps. Thank god, she needed them after no sleep last night. We have a long week ahead of us with a very special visitor coming to visit (her auntie Mindy) and Thanksgiving (were she will get to meet her daddy's cousin Jennifer, her husband Steve, and their son Dolton). So we are going to keep up the oatmeal baths, Tylenol, and benedryl going. The dots seems to be fading a little bit more as the day is going on. Here are some pictures of her dots from last night.

And then a couple of her face this morning.
Keep her in your thoughts and prayers, that she gets better quick.
That's it for now.
Come back soon y'all.

Mmmm Pumpkin Dip.

Found this on pinterest.com, my new favorite website besides my blog. I may have to give it a try for Thanksgiving at my mother and father-in-laws house.

Recipe calls for
 1) 15oz can of pumpkin
1) 5oz box of instant vanilla pudding
1) 16 oz container of cool whip
1/2 TBSP pumpkin pie spice
1/2TBSP cinnamon
Mix pumpkin, box of instant vanilla pudding, cool whip, and pumpkin pie spice. Let chill for several hours. Put in small pumpkin and sprinkle with cinnamon. Serve with apple slices or vanilla wafers!
YUMMY!

Babies, babies everywhere!

There are many tiny little blessings in the works and being born. My cousin and her husband announced that they are pregnant and due May 28th. It's their 1st little bundle of joy.
My friend Brandy and her husband Randall just added a beautiful baby boy to their family. He was 7lbs 2oz and 19 1/2" long and the cutest blonde hair! His nursery theme is rockstar and I think he looks like a little rockstar with his mohawk. His mommy, Brandy, is doing wonderful and both her and her husband are enjoying every minute with him.  Here is an adorable picture of him in the hospital!
And then my husband's friend Mica and his wife Amy had a beautiful little boy named Rylan. He was 7lbs 15 oz and 20" long. Here is a cute picture of him.

Both were born on 11-11-11 in the morning via c-section. What an awesome birthday huh?!?"

While visiting the two little boys at the hospital I missed my little girl so much. So here is a picture of my sweet girl when she was a day old. Can't believe it's already been a year!

That's it for now. Come back soon y'all!

Ah, finally an outlet...

... for all the things in my brain. I don't have much time for anything much right now, but I'll copy and paste the e-mail I sent to the president and board at Penn St. immediately after the news broke about the horrific acts perpetrated on children by former Nittany Lions coach Jerry Sandusky. After reading the grand jury testimony wherein 8 boys separately described similar patterns of  abuse, I felt strongly about Sandusky's guilt.

As the parent of a young child and the brother of a university educator, I ask that you force the resignation of all those responsible for the inaction that has taken place for the prior 15+ years regarding the allegations of sexual molestation of young children on and off Penn St University property. Certainly, the justice system will run its course for those charged, but this is also about what it takes to represent a university like Penn St, which should be a place where young people come to learn and better themselves; it should not be somewhere a sexual predator feels safe in taking children for the purpose of sexually abusing them. Regardless of the level of guilt of Coach Paterno and others, the culture of secrecy they've created at Penn St wherein the football program is more important than the emotional and physical devastation of a child is sickening; and those involved in creating this atmosphere should be immediately dismissed.

What a wonderful month so far!

HAPPY 1ST BIRTHDAY TESSA!!!!
The start of November has been great. My parents came in to visit from Milwaukee along with my sisters and little brother. We all went to the Houston zoo for Tessa's 1st birthday. We had so much fun! Here is a picture of my sister and Tessa at the zoo. It was a little chilly.

Tessa's birthday party was today. We had SO much fun. People kept saying she is so spoiled, and I responded with, she isn't spoiled she is LOVED! Everyone we love and care about showed up. It was so nice to have people who love Tessa surrounding her and sharing in her special day.She got lots of presents and she plays with each and every one of them. Again a big thank you to everyone who made her day special. Here is a picture of her with her Furreal kitty her Auntie Mindy bought her. She LOVED it!

I made her cake and it turned out AMAZING! I was so proud of myself. And everyone seemed to enjoy it.

Tessa had a Dr appt bright and early at 8:30am. She grew some weighing 24lbs 7oz and 29 1/2". She had to get 3 shots. I hate seeing my babygirl get shots. :-( Here is a picture of Tessa enjoying the kids chair at the Dr's office.

That's it for right now there's so much more to add. But my princess is waking up from her afternoon nap.
Come back soon y'all!
